New York Fashion Week: Day 3

The Wild Child: Diane von Furstenberg

Ms. Furstenberg channeled her inner wild child and took us back to her Studio 54 days by delivering a collection mixed and matched with prints, textures, and embellishments. Titled "Nomadic", the clothes aptly portray an eclectic thrown-together look that includes camouflage, animal prints, fringes, cozy knits, and pom pom hats (!). Who says we need to play safe in times of recession?

Most Refreshing: Preen

Preen's collection has taken me to a fashion fantasy land: clothes that are skin-baring and sexy but crafted in such a tasteful manner that they can almost be an art piece. The organically cut-out dresses, sheer blouses, and massive fur jackets may not be your everyday wardrobe items, but they offer what runway fashion is supposed to do: inspire.

Most Likely to be Worn in Gossip Girl: Tuleh

It was expected uptown sophistication at Bryan Bradley's show - tailored jackets, fitted pants, gorgeous cocktail dresses - but the designer also puts his spin this season by using clashing floral prints and metallic jacquard. The result? Very Blair Waldorf, and I won't be surprised if I see a few (if not, many) of the pieces appearing in next season's Gossip Girl.
