shapes, waist, shapes

shapes

It's always a delight when I find things in my closet that I might have forgotten about and discover that they're somehow in sync with current trends (but weren't really at the time I bought them...) and then find new ways to wear. Take this blue obi-style belt - it's actually part of a silk top that I got from Sweet Tater (which sadly just closed their NYC store not too long ago) that I've abandoned for a while... but since kimono-style cinched waists seem to be the season's flattering shape, I decided to use my belt as a defining element for my little "winged" sleeve top and my balloony harem pants.
I think I'm really loving the Japanese-inspired looks in the moment!
